Stage & puppet design

For this children's performance (9+) about Africa we wanted the children to get away from their school environment and create a whole new (African) world for this poetic performance. So I designed an African hut that was build up in the class rooms.

Some of the puppets I designed were painted on cardboard while others were made from household things you can find in an average African household.

Inspired by the book The Famished Road by author Ben Okri.

Directed by Guido Kleene.

Performed by Peter Sijbenga, Arnold Dijkstra & Elze van den Akker
